Art Project; Narrative
The 3rd day of the art project was about illustrating narratives. We were given a found text to create a story from, and decide how we were going to tell it and present it. I chose to do mine about drugs at a party, which were ideas that I developed from the found text that I was given which included 2 named characters called Toby and Craven, and an image of one of them giving the other something called 'scooby snacks' which I changed to mean drugs. The word 'death' was also written at the bottom of the page, so I made one of my characters die at the end, from the drugs that he had taken. My narrative could be seen as an anti drug message.
I used story boarding, sketches and mind maps to design my characters and to map out the sequence of events. Below is my final narrative, which I drew on a concertina book.
I enjoyed this day of illustration, and I think that I am going to do one of the workshops in progression week about it; not because I want to go into it in the future, but just because I found it really fun to experiment with creating characters and narrative.
