Composition
Composition is something which I have never really explored past a certain point before, so I found it really interesting learning about different rules to use in composition. These included counter change, radiation, repetition of shape, rabatment, rule of thirds, right angles and the golden ratio.
I found it really exciting how as soon as we were taught all of these rules, I was able to spot them in other artists work; the photo above for example contains right angles, counterchange and rabatment. We then went around campus and drew our own examples of the rules. From left to right; rabatment, golden ratio, rabatment and counterchange.
The next exercise we had to do was go around campus and do a tracing of a living thing, a sign and a piece of architecture, and then group up with 2 others and combine all of our drawings to make some interesting compositions.
